The quest for the perfect burger involves an arduous testing process without a definite answer. However, we tried to rate them based on a general view, while excluding major fast food chains such as McDonald's and Burger King. While the best burger depends on personal taste, we based our list on quality and flavor. We tried to take on the most popular versions of the burger from each restaurant. Obviously these dishes are rated, but each one is absolutely delicious and I highly recommend trying each one and deciding for yourself.
The order: American (beef, American, sweet pickles, tomatoes, red onions, green leaf, ketchup, stone ground mustard, brioche bun). 730 calories.
The American burger is simply outstanding, from its near picture perfect appearance to the pool of juice that flows out after the first bite. It may be fifth on the list, but it tastes amazing. I recommend ordering this with a side of fries and an assortment of sauces for the best experience.
The order: Cheeseburger (two slices of Kraft American cheese melted between two freshly grilled patties on a soft, toasted bun). 840 calories.
If I could describe this burger in two words they’d be: guilty pleasure. Not exactly the most healthy option, this burger is a dream of cheesy goodness. No veggies and no tomato nonsense. Just meat and cheese. For those of you who love a good greaseball for lunch, look for a Five Guys. Warning: unless you’re seeking a muffin top, I’d limit this burger to an occasional treat.
The order: BurgerFi Cheeseburger (Double Natural Angus Burger, double American cheese, lettuce, tomato, BurgerFi sauce).
With both a double and single option, the BurgerFi Cheeseburger is a great choice for lunch or dinner. Branded with the classic BurgerFi insignia combined with great flavor gained this burger the third spot on our list. Unlike other burger joints, BurgerFi actually has breakfast options, which include burgers with fried eggs, hash-browns and all the fixins.
The order: ShackBurger (cheeseburger topped with lettuce, tomato, and shack sauce).
Price: $5.55 (single)
A well balanced burger, the great taste is not accompanied by too much grease. Which is surprising, considering how fast they prepare it. If you’re in a rush, Shake Shack is the place to go. Pair this beauty with a shake and some cheese fries and it's a great meal. Plus, it's decently cheap. All these factors earned this burger the number two spot our list.
The order: Cheeseburger
Perfection. Cheap, amazingly delicious, and quickly delivered. This burger is, in our opinion, the perfect combination of bread, cheese, and meat. The irony is that these restaurants are confined to the West Coast of America. There’s little to say about this burger aside from the fact that it is among the upper echelon of burgers. I highly recommend anyone who finds themselves near an In-N-Out to try this, or any other item on their menu.
