Volkswagen has pleaded guilty in the diesel emission test case. The German auto company is agreeing to pay a $2.8 billion criminal fine in addition to a $1.5 billion civil fine for installing software that activated pollution controls during emission tests. It's going to cost more in the long run. A federal judge still has to set a sentence. Another hearing is scheduled for April 21.
