Donald Trump's National Security Advisor: Who is H.R. McMaster?

Lieutenant General Herbert Raymond McMaster is replacing Michael Flynn as the national security adviser. Flynn was forced to resigned after misleading Vice President Mike Pence about phone calls with a Russian diplomat. A West Point alum, McMaster is three-star general with a doctorate in history from the University of North Carolina. He received a Silver Star in the battle “73 Easting” in February 1991. McCaster, 54, served in the Persian Gulf War, Afghanistan and Iraq wars. He is married and has three daughters.
