Pope Francis has extended priests' ability to grant absolution for abortion. Traditionally, the church considered abortion a sin. A year ago, Francis announced a year of forgiveness, allowing the church to forgive abortion for that period of time. The Vatican's announcement makes this policy permanent, allowing priests to give absolution for it — not just bishops or special confessors.
The Bataclan opened Saturday night for the first time since the Paris attacks. Sting opened the show after a minute of silence for the victims of the coordinated terror attacks that left 130 people dead. Three gunmen open fired and killed 90 concertgoers at the Bataclan during an Eagles of Death Metal show November 13, 2015. The Bataclan has been closed until the Sting concert. Sting plans on donating the proceeds from the concert to Life for Paris and 13 Novembre: Fraternité Verité, which are organizations that provide support to victims of the attack and their family.
Is Obama late to visit Louisiana?
1. When the devastating floods in Louisiana began, President Obama was on a vacation in Martha's Vineyard. He did not immediately end his vacation to visit the region. This disappointed many Republicans and some Louisianans. Now, several people are saying the President's visit to Louisiana Tuesday is too late. This group includes Donald Trump and his running mate Mike Pence who visited the state last week.
2. Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has previously said that he hoped the President would wait to visit. When the President visits a city, many local police officers are often assigned to help protect the President. Edwards said that would have kept officers away from helping people affected by the flooding. However, Edwards also said that Trump's trip to the region was helpful because "it helped shine a spotlight...on the dire situation we have here."
3. So is Obama late to visiting the area?

Here's a name you need to know: Katie Ledecky. Over the weekend, the American swimmer made history winning five gold medals at the world swimming championships, including sweeping the 200,400,800 and 1,500 freestyle races, a feat never accomplished by a swimmer before. The best part? She only 18. This is pretty good news for the United States Olympic team as Ledecky will almost certainly defend her gold medals at the 2016 summer olympic games. BTW, Ledecky was just 14 years old when she won her first Olympic medal at the 2012 London Olympic games. Perhaps there's good reason why the swimming world is calling her a "freak of nature."

Conversation with dad running dry? Talk to him about Jordan Spieth, the American golfer looking to make history today at the British Open. Spieth, a 21-year-old Texan, has had one heck of a year on the green, winning both the Masters and the U.S. Open. The last golfer to do that? Some guy named Tiger Woods. If Spieth were to win the British Open, he would become the first man since Ben Hogan in 1953 to complete what’s known as the Triple Crown of Golf. Better yet, winning will keep Spieth’s shot at a tour Grand Slam alive at this year’s PGA Championship, a feat never accomplished by a golfer in the modern era. Of course, out of all of this, Spieth’s biggest concern may be the wind.
