Amnesty International backs legal prostitution, celebrities do not

1. It's all fun and games until Meryl Streep signs a petition against your latest policy. That's the lesson Amnesty International is learning the hard way after voting to support the decriminalization of prostitution. The human rights organization believes that by doing so, sex workers can conduct their business in safer environments free from violence, human trafficking and legal prosecution.

2. A who's who of Hollywood, and beyond, has taken major issue with Amnesty International's stance, insisting that by decriminalizing prostiution, pimps would become legitimate businessmen - a scenario that could make sex workers' jobs even more dangerous. Lena Dunham, Gloria Steinem and Anne Hathaway are just a few of the names to sound off against the vote.
